Netflix has officially announced that its upcoming animated Carmen Sandiego reboot will premiere on 18 January 2019. The 20 episode 22 minute each series will have Gina Rodriguez voice the protagonist.
The animated reboot, produced by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and DHX Media, will see the master criminal pulling off epic adventures and evading laws with her crew. The series is based on the property which became popular in 1985 with an educational computer game Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?, which also created multiple titles, an animated series (1994-99) and a live-action kids’ quiz show.
Netflix has also released the first images of the character called Player, who is a young, tech-savy boy voiced by Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things).
Lately, Netflix has been doing various reboots ranging from Fuller House, Bill Nye, and two seasons of Magic School Bus from 9 Story and Scholastic Entertainment.
