“Proud to be associated with animated feature, ‘Latte And The Magic Waterstone’”: philmCGI team

Pune, India based animation and VFX studio, philmCGI has recently worked on an animated film, Latte and the Magic Waterstone, which is now streaming on Netflix.

Available in all english speaking territories as well as Latin America and India, the animated feature is ranking under ‘Top 10 Movies and TV Series in the US’.

Released on 31 July on the streaming service, Latte and the Magic Waterstone is directed by Nina Wels and Regina Welker, and produced by Dreamin Dolphin Film alongside Eagle Eye Filmproduktion and Grid Animation. The animated feature was released in various European countries in 2019, and has been sold worldwide theatrically and in English speaking countries including Australia, New Zealand as well as Spain.

The animated feature was confirmed with philmCGI at the Annecy Film Festival in 2017, who delivered quite a number of shots of the film. The characters of Latte and the Magic Waterstone are based on a famous illustration book for children made more than 50 years ago.

Excited to be associated with the animated film, philmCGI managing director Anand Bhanushali told AnimationXpress, “We at philmCGI are really happy excited for Latte and The Magic Waterstone that recently released on Netflix in India and elsewhere. This is the first time we worked on a theatrical European feature film as a studio. This is great for the Indian animation industry on the whole as it helps bring us closer and motivates the artists to see their hard work on screen especially in trying times like these.”

The official synopsis of Latte and the Magic Waterstone follows like: Latte is not an ordinary easygoing and cuddly little hedgehog! She is full to the brim with energy outmatched only by her self-assured attitude. In order to save the forest and all its inhabitants from a terrible drought, he sets out on a perilous journey to reclaim the stolen waterstone from the mighty bear king.

The animation director of the film is Grig Iulian Grigoriu and animation supervisor is Sushrut Bothe.
