Nickelodeon to bring back the 90’s cartoons in an Avenger style film

90’s kids have long been cribbing about their favorite cartoons no longer being seen on TV and have been constantly demanding to get them back on the television screens. Nickelodeon has finally heard those pleas and the 90’s show characters will be back with a bang! Reported by The Tracking Board, Nickelodeon is going to make these 90’s characters hit the screen in an “Avenger-style” project which will involve the “Rugrats,” “Hey Arnold!,” “Ren And Stimpy,” “Rocko’s Modern Life” and “Angry Beavers.”

nickParamount Pictures is inthe early stages of developing this massive live-action/animated crossover film featuring characters from these hit Nick cartoons and Mary Parent is leading the charge on this one. She was recently seen producing Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and for this film she will be  working with the studio to develop and lock down the rights to the individual series. Parent and Cale Boyter are producing the pic via their shingle, Disruption Entertainment which signed an overall deal with Paramount this past March.

Paramount is still on a pursuit for the on target writer who will have a tough time to bring out the screenplay as the characters are of different ages and along with humans, animals will also be part of it.

Nick has confessed that their main influencers for this film would be The Lego Movie, Space Jam, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Wreck It Ralph. If what we heard is right and the film would follow the Avenger style storyboard, we might get to see action and humor in this film.

The creators will have to keep an eye out and see to it that history doesn’t repeat itself as we saw that Rugrats Go Wild movie was an ill-received and poorly conceived crossover that just didn’t mesh together.
