Toonz Animation Academy recognised as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by MESC

The Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) under the National Skills Development Mission has recognised the Toonz Animation Academy as a Centre of Excellence.

Toonz Academy owns a unique model of education where students not only graduate but pass out with studio experience in the Toonz Animation Studio. The recognition from the Council has opened the doors for international collaboration with universities, studios and governments for consistent skill and technology transfer, a spokesman said.

The Council is the highest recognised body in animation, visual effects and gaming. The recognition follows a detailed review of infrastructure, performance and quality assurance at the Toonz facility.

Toonz Media CEO P Jayakumar said both the Council and Toonz strive to identify, nurture and empower skill sets of students, provide the finest in education and render them industry-ready.

He added, “As recipient of the ‘Centre of Excellence Recognition’ by Media and Entertainment Skills Council, it is proof that Toonz Animation Academy has stayed true to the art. And this isn’t any trivial seal of recognition as it is bestowed by the highest body in animation, visual effects and gaming set up under National Skills Development Mission of the Government of India, as the Academy had to go through a stringent review of the institutes infrastructure, overall performance and quality assurance. This goes on to prove that churning quality talent with hands-on production experience is the prime focus of the institute, with vibrant influence on the entertainment industry.”

Chief operating officer of the council Mohit Soni noted that the Academy has been recognised for outstanding contribution and dedication in providing learners consistently high standards of training as also support extended to the Skill India Mission.

Given the increasing demand for exceptionally skilled individuals in media and entertainment, he hoped that the Academy would be able to create a prime category of skilled workforce in the industry.
