Purple Turtle ropes in MJA licensing in France

Aadrash, the people behind the iconic Purple Turtle has roped in MJA licensing to be its licensing agent in France.

MJA Licensing has extensive experience in licensing, both as agent and licensee, in depth knowledge of main distribution channels and international experience in sales and management.

Purple Turtle head of licensing & publishing N.K Krishanand said in a statement: “Purple Turtle books feature stories that guide and stimulate a child’s mind. This deal will enable us to expand the growing popularity even further. Young children in France will now be able to enjoy many of Purple Turtle’s adventures through a variety of read and play opportunities.”

Originally introduced in 2012, Purple Turtle books have been published in USA, UK, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Indonesia, Sir Lanka, Malaysia, Greece, China, and in six regional languages in India with over, 1 million copies published to date. Purple Turtle started as a children’s book imprint of Aadarsh and was transformed to a gender neutral pre-school character for global audience. Looking at the amazing response, more than 100 books were launched at Frankfurt Book Fair, 2012. Now more than 150 titles of Purple Turtle Books have already been published.

An animated series of Purple Turtle (78 x 7 min, 3D HD) is in development, and features the world’s cutest turtle, a little guy who stands out of the normal crowd because he tends to think differently than others, or better yet, a bit ‘out of his shell’.

MJA Licensing founder Françoise Bouvet added: “We are very excited to launch Purple Turtle in our market. Their success is so impressive in other markets. We believe the brand has a great educational potential and carries great values for kids.”
