Philips India and Disney join hands to light children’s rooms

Every child in India can now have at least one lighted Disney character in their room. Philips Lighting India today unveiled an imaginative LED lighting portfolio designed by Disney for all the kids between three to seven years.

Philips has aligned with Disney to create lighting products designed especially for kids. The products will range between Rs 800 to Rs 5,300. The variety includes night lamps range, wake-up lights, projectors through which Disney characters can be beamed out on the roof and many more.

“A lot of parents are now looking beyond toys. Looking at the big traction in online sales, this range of home decorative lighting will be available exclusively on Amazon India’s e-commerce platform. Customers are increasingly using online portals to buy products,” said Philips Lighting Indian Subcontinent president, Nirupam Sahay to IANS.

Theses LED lights will portrait some of the famous Disney characters, such as Mickey and Minnie mouse, Cars, Princess, Jake, Winnie The Pooh and few others.

“We have created informative pages with products on Amazon site. We not only sell products we also educate people and create awareness among customers,” Amazon India director, category management, Samir Kumar told IANS.

“In future we may sell these products in our retail stores as well. These products are manufactured keeping safety in mind as well,” Sahay added.

Philips India’s home decorative segment is one of the top five markets in the company globally.

“This product range is a perfect example of how Disney storytelling can be extended into children’s bedrooms through an innovative and compelling product offering,” said Disney consumer products, vice president and head, Abhishek Maheshwari.

Philips has 120 branded retail stores for home decorative lightings in India. The current range of products was already launched in a few countries in Europe and in Asia it was launched in Singapore and the Philippines a month ago.
