Hyderabad Comic Con to host Red Bull MEO by ESL

Red Bull MEO (Mobile Esports Open) by ESL (Electronic Sports League), will witness qualifiers in Hyderabad on 13 October where participants can register offline. The online qualifiers took place from 7 to 30 September. In MEO’s inaugural 2018-2019 season, the competition will focus on one of the biggest mobile games, Clash Royale.

Abhimanyu Raghuvanshi, Mrinmoy Lakhar, Mohammad Saif Inayat Patel and Brian Christopher Norman were the four winners of the online qualifiers.

Nodwin Gaming co-founder and MD Akshat Rathee said, “Mobile gaming has picked up an unimaginable pace solely on the accounts of accessibility, convenience, and a larger population who prefers mobile over PC or console. We need nothing but to feed the wave with more tournaments and exposure. Nodwin has done that time and again and by partnering energy drink giant Red Bull we are more than excited to get Red Bull MEO underway.”

There are certain rules and regulations laid down for the contest, which requires the participant to be a registered player on the ESL play platform in order to participate in the tournaments hosted by ESL. The criterion also includes being at least 16 years of age and possession of valid travel documents. Players are only allowed to participate in one country’s qualifier. In the event that a player qualifies for the tournament but does not meet the requirements to participate, that player will lose the right to participate and the place will go to the next eligible player to qualify.

Rathee added, “The mobile gaming ecosystem is flourishing and steadily taking over the larger traditional gaming market. Red Bull MEO is how we ride on that wave. With all the experience Nodwin has gathered on mobile gaming tournaments over time, we look to provide our Clash Royale lovers with a memorable outing.”

Four winners from online qualifiers and four from offline will compete for the finals on 14 October at Comic Con Hyderabad. Participants from 36 countries will battle it out to be crowned the best mobile gamer in the world, with the finals taking place in Germany.
