Fox’s ‘Gotham’ gets murkier as more villains come to the fore

With only four more episodes remaning in the run up to the end of what can be termed as a successful season one of Gotham, Fox is going all out to unravel the histories of the Darknight’s crime-infested city.

The TV show that premiered in Septemeber 2014 is a spin-off of Batman’s origin chronicling the young Bruce Wayne and his loyal butler, Alfred’s untold story. Leading the show is Ben McKenzie playing the honest cop in town, Detective James Gordon. Set in the dingy, dark setting of Gotham, the show has been applauded for its comic-styled sets portraying the city and also the creepy-looking Arkham Asylum.

Over the last 18 episodes, Gotham has spawned various characters from the DC universe including Penguin, Scarecrow, Catwoman, Ivy, Two-Face, Riddler and hopefully the Joker. In the latest update, producer John Stephens revealed two potential storylines for the upcoming season two, that could delve further into the character of Bruce Wayne as well as the rumored young Joker, Jerome.

In addition to this, season two would also witness two new baddies – Clayface and the Mad Hatter. Even season one’s Mr. Freeze would be seen in a greater role in the next set of episodes. As per the last update, Jada Pinkett Smith’s character Fish Mooney would be exiting the show. Now that’s a pity as her character brought about quite a few twists throughout the first season.
