Finn and Jake are back in the saddle, and this time their side quests are anything but small fry. Disney+ has confirmed that the second part of Adventure Time: Side Quests will premiere on 2 October, bringing more magic, mischief and wonderfully weird detours to the land of Ooo.
The new episodes will see the pair tackle everything from wrestling toads and baby gladiators to magic spells gone spectacularly wrong. If there is one thing Finn and Jake have learnt, it is that in Ooo, even the tiniest detour can turn into a full-blown adventure.
“Finn and Jake are back for more adventure and even more side quests across the wild, wonderful land of Ooo,” Disney+ announced on its Instagram, teasing a season packed with strange encounters and plenty of butt-kicking.
The second season follows a two-season order and continues the show’s return to the light-hearted, offbeat storytelling that made the original series a fan favourite. Rather than diving deep into sprawling lore, Side Quests keeps the focus on the duo’s friendship, comic chaos and unpredictable adventures.
Much of the original voice cast returns, although Finn sounds a little different this time around. Jeremy Shada, who voiced the character in the original series, has been replaced by Sasha Knight. The change may take some getting used to, but Knight steps into the sizable boots of one of animation’s best-known young heroes.
The series also gives Ooo a visual refresh. Its lineless art style, more fluid animation and new soundtrack set Side Quests apart from its predecessor, while the writing and rapid-fire dialogue retain the spirit of the original.
For fans, the timing could hardly be more fitting. With new episodes of both Adventure Time and Regular Show arriving in 2026, animation’s nostalgia machine is working overtime.
Disney+ and Hulu have not released viewing figures for Adventure Time: Side Quests, so it remains unclear how the revival is performing. For now, Finn and Jake have another quest on the horizon, and if Ooo has taught us anything, the strangest journeys often make the best stories.
