Culture Machine’s ex-CEO and co-founder Sameer Pitalwalla joins Epic Games

Epic Games, has recently appointed Culture Machine’s ex-CEO and co-founder Sameer Pitalwalla. As per his LinkedIn page, he has joined Epic Games as ‘bizy’, which is yet to be cleared what the role entails.

Pitalwalla had quit Culture Machine in December 2019 and he seems continued with Rainshine Entertainment, the holding company of Culture Machine, as an advisor and might have overseen some of its existing long-format shows. The business post Pitalwalla’s transition was led by  Rainshine Entertainment chief operating officer Anuraag Srivastava.

Prior to that, he was the director at The Walt Disney India Company for around three years. Pitalwalla quit his position as director, interactive division, The Walt Disney Company India, and teamed up with Venkat Prasad, 38, an engineer with a business management degree from UCLA Anderson, to launch Culture Machine in July 2013.

He has more than 14 years of experience in the industry, Pitalwalla has also worked with Times Internet as business head ( Dec 2009- Dec 2010) and Times Television Network as business head – digital (Jan 2007 – July 2009) in the past and also associated  with DNA and Techtree.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Advertising from University of Mumbai and also did MA in Media Management from University of Westminster
