BBC greenlights S2 of the pre-school series ‘Hushabye Lullabye’

The Series One of Hushabye Lullabye which launched on BBC iPlayer and CBeebies in February 2020 has been delighting the parents, toddlers and babies alike with its beautiful textured animated characters and sing-along music. While the episodes continue to charm BBC iPlayer’s users, the commissioning of Series Two by CBeebies for 2021 will help expand the offering allowing viewers more ways to soothe and bond with their little ones.

Hushabye Lullabye, a super soft and cosy musical world with its calming magical landscape of Planet Dream is a gentle and comforting series, popular with young children and their families.

This charming series of short animations is a Scottish collaboration that has been created by Glasgow-based Sacha Kyle, an established television and theatre director; together with Stirling based animators Wild Child and the award-winning Glasgow-based MaraKids delivering the series with executive producer Simon Parsons.

The creator, writer and director Sacha Kyle said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to create a new series with brand new lullabies for parents and babies who have expressed such enjoyment from the first series and are regularly watching Hushabye Lullabye as part of their bedtime routine and sleep time.”

MaraKids is the award-winning children’s brand from acclaimed natural history production company Maramedia. The team make quality innovative content that gives added value to viewers. Maramedia director Jackie Savery said, “Working with other Scottish based talent like Wild Child and Sacha is fantastic, we are really proud of the series and hope it brings much joy to parents and children alike!”
