Skull Island anime series from Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse is an expansive story universe centered around humanity’s battle to survive in a world under siege by a catastrophic new reality – the monsters of our myths and legends are real.

In Skull Island, the animated adventure follows shipwrecked characters desperate to escape the most dangerous place on Earth – a mysterious island home to prehistoric monsters, including the greatest Titan of them all, Kong.

Beginning in 2014 with Godzilla, followed by Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and the popular Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), the Monsterverse films have been hugely successful at the box office, accumulating close to two billion dollars globally.

The latest franchise offerings include a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong, the new anime series Skull Island for Netflix, and an untitled live-action original series coming to Apple TV+.

The series is written, and executive produced by Brian Duffield (Underwater, The Babysitter). Jacob Robinson is executive producer for Tractor Pants. The animation is by Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania, Blood of Zeus).

The release date for Skull Island has not been announced yet.
