Prayan Animation Studio, a leading animation powerhouse in India, recently marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 12th anniversary. Founded by animation enthusiasts turned best friends, Vinayan V (CEO) and Remesh Ram (managing director), the studio has embarked on an incredible journey driven by creativity and passion.
In the span of 12 years, Prayan has risen to prominence as one of India’s top 5 service studios, collaborating with renowned international brands. Their partnership with the Super Sema team stands out as a game-changer, catapulting them to new heights of success. The studio’s involvement in Seasons 2 and 3 of this YouTube Original series showcased their commitment to excellence in animation.
With a dedicated team proficient in both ToonBoom and Adobe software, Prayan Animation Studio boasts an impressive production capacity of over 300 minutes of 2D animation annually. Vinayan emphasised the importance of continuous learning, evident through weekly training sessions on the latest software and animation techniques. Their creative hub, First Light, serves as a breeding ground for innovative ideas and the birthplace of numerous intellectual properties (IPs). The team was able to develop several pre-school series IPs, showcased at prestigious events like Annecy, Mipcom and Kidscreen. These IPs include:
- Norman and Fudgy: A heartfelt CG adventure comedy, about Norman and his robot BFF Fudgy who run a toy repair shop where they provide physical and emotional therapy to broken toys… Who come to life!
- Butcher and The Goat: A 2D animated comedy for six to nine years old, Butcher and the Goat is the story of a self-centered and disgraced pro wrestler is sentenced to 14 kajillion hours of community service, which his biggest (aka only) fan adorably interprets as endless acts of heroic kindness.
- Zena’s Zoo: An adventure Drama in 2D, for pre-schools audience with the captivating story of an autistic girl and the cute animals in her father’s zoo.
- Rachel & Camy: The Mysteries of Nivood, a pre-school adventure comedy series about two young sleuths Rachel Raccoon and Camy Chameleon who uses their big imaginations, creative thinking and budding detective skills to solve mysteries in a community names Nivood.
- The Jelly Bean Show: A 3D preschool adventure show, concentrating on education (Steam and prosocial). The Jelly Bean Show is a giggle filled, heartwarming show for preschooler that celebrates the joy of friendship, individuality, and the special bond between siblings.
- Bobby & Beta: It is a heartwarming series in 2D, that celebrates the power of friendship, imagination, the endless wonders of childhood, and the growing up challenges of preschoolers… and toys.
Looking ahead, Prayan Animation Studio is focused on expanding the reach of their IPs across various platforms and TV channels, ensuring children everywhere can enjoy their captivating creations. In line with their commitment to nurturing talent, the studio plans to launch animation schools to foster the next generation of animators.
