RSVP’s upcoming superhero aims to raise the bar for the superhero genre

Vicky Kaushal recently shared the first posters of his next film, The Immortal Ashwatthama. Set to be a sci-fi thriller, the film is based on a character from the chapter of Mahabharata.

Sharing the first look posters of the film on Twitter, Kaushal wrote that he is overwhelmed and ecstatic to share the glimpse into the world of The Immortal Ashwathama on the second anniversary of his blockbuster film URI-The Surgical Strike. He cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team, said the actor.

Through the sci-fi thriller, Kaushal joined forces again with the URI director Aditya Dhar and producer Ronnie Screwvala. In the movie, the actor will play the role of a character inspired by the warrior Ashwatthama, who had a significant part to play in the war between Pandavas and Kauravas in epic Mahabharata.

The poster features Kaushal in superhero avatar, holding a lightning sword in a futuristic setting with multiple skyscrapers in the background. He stood on the tips of the fingers. Another poster shows a huge idol of Lord Shiva and a man standing opposite it with a sword.

The film is a high concept VFX spectacle which aims to the bar higher for the superhero genre not in India but across the world, captioned the production team RSVP to the post sharing the same two posters on Twitter.

The film will go on floors from April 2021.
