Hyderabad based AnimGraphix and PRASAD‘S IMAX are organizing an animation festival Anim Fest on 24th and 25th August 2007. The highlight of this festival will be the felicitation of industry professionals for their contribution to the industry and will also mark the launch of the Magic Animation Academy which is an offshoot of AnimGraphix Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, AnimGraphix Director Surekha Sridhar shared, “We have been part of the industry for a long time and we felt that it is time we do our bit to honour the services rendered by individuals and organizations to the animation industry. We also wish to make this an annual event and honour those who have achieved great feats. PRASAD‘S IMAX has contributed a lot by screening classic and great animation movies for years together. Hence, when we approached them they readily agreed to partner with us for the event.”
Other features of the festival are talks by experts from the industry, demonstration of BG techniques by Thiru who has been involved with animated movies like Buddha, The legend of dragon, Little Ameadus, a hands on workshop for all the participants, scholarships for the deserving candidates, quiz on Indian animation and a presentation on making of animation movies.
The keynote address will be delivered by the famous Director S V Krishna Reddy and following that will be the presentations by NASSCOM‘s Col. Ramachandran, PRASAD‘S IMAX‘ GM T. Srikanth, Greengold Animation‘s Rajiv C, Pixion‘s CB Arun, Anand Gurnani of AnimationXpress.com and Ranjith Chandra Shekharan of Animation Reporter.
Directors of AnimGraphix- Dr Chandra Bhushan, Sridhar S, Surekha Sridhar, PRASAD‘S IMAX GM T. Srikanth and PRASAD‘S IMAX‘s Kishan are part of the organising committee of the fest.
Talking more about the festival, AnimGraphix Director Sridhar S. said, “We wish to work towards creating a platform for the creative professionals and organizations to come together and share their knowledge, experiences and ideas to move towards a better future for the young aspiring animators.”
