Ketan Mehta gifts Aamir Khan a video on ‘Satyamev Jayate’

Appreciating Star Plus’ & Aamir Khan’s efforts on the show that brought social revolution, Ketan Mehta and his team from Maya Digital studios presented the ‘Satyamev Jayate’ team with video that highlights the overwhelming response generated by the show on twitter.

Ketan Mehta made a video with his team at Maya digital Studios headed by Dinesh Sehgal. It’s a special tribute to the show. The complete work of the video has been done at Maya digital Studios. Right from brain storming of the concept to the final rendering of the product, the dedicated team worked at Maya digital Studios. To create this video a proper blend of several type of animation skills were brought together namely 2D animation, 3D animation and particle simulation. Each has its relevance to bring forth this effective video.

Speaking to Animationxpress.com, Dinesh Sehgal from Maya Digital said “In today’s time the importance of Twitter cannot be underestimated and thus we wanted to take this as a medium for understanding the importance of SMJ. The response to the show could not have been possible collected from any other source that was more authentic. Roughly 56000 tweets were recorded in mere 12 hours of the show. Thus, we decided to take these stats and tweets as the basis for this video.”

The seven minute video showcases a perfect blend of emotions, reactions, praise, and inspiration that the show brought to us worldwide is uploaded across social media platforms.

Further elaborating on the video, Ketan Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director – Maya Digital Studios Pvt. Ltd., shared, “Satyamev Jayate has transformed the way TV as a medium is viewed & contributed to the greater good of society. At Maya, we’ve pioneered the art & technology for animation & visual effects in India; and Satyamev Jayate provided us with the opportunity to use visual effects technology to convey the essence & the impact of the show. It was our tribute to the show which has sparked off a revolution and we at Maya are proud to be associated with this phenomenon in the history of the Indian Entertainment Industry.”

Talking about the challenges faced, Dinesh said, “The most challenging part during the production of the video was that unlike traditional process where there is story board, we had to go about the process while working on it. We had no concrete ideas or plans while working on the video; we decided to flow with the wind, in this case ideas. We created special rigs to allow us to incorporate the 3D animation and particle simulation almost in real time. The next challenge was to match-up the 2D animation with the 3D animation. Both styles have different camera animations but to maintain the flow, we had to import the 3D animation data into 2D compositing software. This made the video look seamless without people realizing the shift.”

Currently Maya Digital studio is working for both the Indian as well as the international markets. Their main projects include Censtables, Motu Patlu and Captain Vyom .
