‘Watch Dogs 2’ trailer: Hackers set their eyes over San Francisco

If you are a fan of the Watch Dog franchise, it seems like you are definitely in for a treat with the new and upcoming edition of the IP developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Watch Dogs is a open world third person, action game originally released in May 2014 over PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows and eventually on Wii U. The initial version was based in Chicago, Illinois following the main protagonist, Aiden Pearce, who hacks his way through, while seeking revenge for his niece’s killing.

The new version however, looks even better. It is set in the backdrop of San Francisco and follows the main protagonist, Marcus Holloway, a brilliant DedSec hacker who tries to pull off the master of all hacks. He must attempt and succeed in shutting down ctOS 2.0, a technology used by the powerful ones to manipulate and control the normal citizens.

In the game, the whole San Francisco Bay becomes the playground as one has to hack their through the traffic and indulge in rooftop fighting and exhilarating car chases. The surroundings look pretty vibrant with colourful buildings and technology taking its place all around (of course, it’s San Francisco after all!).
Overall, the game will not be of much difference than its predecessor in terms of the story base but it has been polished to a new level. You can hack cars, drones, cranes, robots and your bystanders alike. Basically, everything related to ‘tech’ can be hacked into and thus there can always be an unexpected chain of events making the game pretty dynamic. The game will also feature co-op and player vs player activities in multiplayer options.

More info on the game is likely to be revealed at E3 this month. Watch Dogs 2 is slated to release on 15 November, 2016 over PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
