The small-screen television industry is surely booming with enthralling fictional shows spawning across genres. Studios and broadcasting channels are all in the race to bag this space and Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) is no laggard in this league.
As per confirmed reports WBTV has inked an overall deal with the prolific showrunner, Andrew Kreisberg who has been producing four of DC Comics’ shows including Arrow, The Flash and the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow on The CW and also the recently premiered Supergirl on CBS.
Outside the world of DC Comics too, the American television writer and producer has earned popularity for his contributed works in shows like The Simpsons, Fringe, Warehouse 13, The Vampire Diaries.
As part of the overall multiple-year deal locked in, Kreisberg will develop new projects for the studio while continuing his oversight on all the four running projects including solely running CW’s The Flash which is by far the television networks most watched show. Along with prolific producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, Kriesberg as the executive producer played an integral role in developing Arrow back in 2012 which led to him also developing successive spin offs, The Flash and the mid-season crossover series Legends of Tomorrow from the DC Comics.
Credits of the recently emerging super-hit show, Supergirl starring Melissa Benoist as the Kryptonian cousin of Superman too goes to Kreisberg who along with Ali Adler and Berlanti developed the show. Ahead of Supergirl’s premier, Kreisberg added that “Finding that stuff is always great, because all of us can write people flying around and fighting giant robots all day long.”
Surely signing up Kreisberg is a key accomplishment for WBTV as he joins the creative think-tank which includes Berlanti, Bruno Heller (Gotham), Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers) and Julie Plec (Vampire Diaries ) as well as The Big Bang Theory‘s Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, among others.
