‘War is Coming’ to Azeroth in this new TV spot for Warcraft movie

‘War is Coming’ that is what the new TV spot from Legendary’s Warcraft, which is based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game franchise is all about. Directed by Duncan Jones who has previously worked on acclaimed sci-fi movies like Moon and Source Code, it stars Dominic Cooper, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Toby Kebbel, and Clancy Brown.

The 30 seconds spot gives an insight into the world of Azeroth, the very popular land from the World of Warcraft video game series, showing more action and adventure from the fantasy epic.

A once-peaceful land, Azeroth will now face a war when Orcs invade the land, fleeing their dying home to capture another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction.

The film’s visual effects are provided by Oscar winning VFX studio Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) who have worked recently on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The ILM team took photographs and scans of the actor Robert Kazinsky who is playing Orgrim Doomhammer and likewise other Orcs and integrated the images with concept art created by Blizzard’s artists.

The movie comes from Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment and Atlas Entertainment. The first trailer for the movie was shown to the audience at Comic-Con in July before it hit Internet in November and it looks promising.

The movie has seen a lot of ups and downs during its long production stages and was first announced 10 years ago in 2006. Since then the movie has seen the story and directors being changed (Sam Raimi was first appointed as the director in 2009), and release dates being pushed. Finally, after much delay, the movie will hit theatres on 10 June.
