From web-slinging superheroes and invisible villains to creepy obsessions and handcrafted puppets, View Conference 2026 is assembling a blockbuster line-up of visual effects and animation talent for its return to Turin, Italy, from 12 to 16 October.
The annual gathering of animation, VFX, gaming and technology professionals is bringing together some of the industry’s biggest creative minds, with this year’s programme promising a deep dive into the artistry and innovation behind some of cinema’s most talked-about projects.
Swinging into the spotlight is Jerome Chen, the Oscar-nominated overall VFX supervisor behind Marvel Studios’ and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day. During his presentation, Chen will pull back the curtain on the visual effects powering Peter Parker’s latest big-screen adventure, offering audiences an insider’s look at how one of Hollywood’s biggest franchises continues to push technical boundaries.
A veteran of films including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Amazing Spider-Man and Godzilla, Chen will explore the challenges of crafting a world where Spider-Man battles a powerful new threat that no one can even see, while grappling with a reality that has forgotten Peter Parker ever existed.
The scares continue with Queen Studio founder Peter Timberlake and overall VFX supervisor on Focus Features’ horror film Obsession. Timberlake’s session will dissect the subtle yet unsettling visual effects behind the psychological horror feature, which follows a hopeless romantic whose wish for love spirals into something far darker.
Known for delivering high-end visual effects through a specialised independent micro-farm model, Timberlake will reveal how his team created the film’s eerie atmosphere and unsettling imagery without relying on the scale of a traditional blockbuster studio.
For those eager to get their hands dirty rather than simply watch from the sidelines, View Conference is also opening the doors to its immersive four-day stop-motion puppet lab. Led by academy award-winning filmmaker and animator Chris Lavis, the workshop will offer participants an intensive introduction to puppet construction, animation techniques and visual storytelling.
Best known for Madame Tutli-Putli and the Oscar-winning The Girl Who Cried Pearls, Lavis will guide attendees through the process of creating puppets and producing original stop-motion sequences, blending craftsmanship with performance and animation.
Beyond its headline sessions, View Conference 2026 will once again bring together filmmakers, animators, designers, technologists and thought leaders from around the world. The programme spans animation, visual effects, artificial intelligence, virtual production, immersive media, gaming, real-time rendering and emerging technologies shaping the future of content creation.
Set against the backdrop of Turin’s historic architecture, the conference has built a reputation as one of Europe’s leading gatherings for creative technology, offering a mix of keynote presentations, workshops, panels and masterclasses designed to connect innovation with storytelling.
Whether it’s uncovering the secrets behind Spider-Man’s latest adventure, exploring the dark artistry of horror visual effects or breathing life into handcrafted puppets one frame at a time, View Conference 2026 is once again proving that the future of entertainment is being built where imagination meets technology.
