The new trailer of M Night Shyamalan’s upcoming superhero movie Glass that has released recently, features a riff between Unbreakable superhero David Dunn and Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man suffering from a dissociative identity disorder, from Split (2016).
The film serves as a sequel to both the films and sees Bruce Willis’s David Dunn, who is endowed with superhuman powers, facing off against his rival Mr. Glass, Samuel Jackson.
Glass reunites Jackson and Willis from Unbreakable, while adding James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy to the cast from Split.
Sarah Paulson, playing psychiatrist Dr Ellie Staple, a new character to the series, is seen to be addressing the three main characters who are seen as the institutionalised patients in the trailer.
As per the official synopsis, the encounter will be instigated by Glass, an expert at manipulation.
From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men. This riveting culmination of his worldwide blockbusters will be produced by Shyamalan and Jason Blum, who also produced the writer/director’s previous two films for Universal. They produce again with Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock, and Steven Schneider, who will executive produce.
It sure looks more like a thriller with some mystery thrown into the mix. McAvoy’s The Beast is much more sinister this time around and is possibly, all set to leave another lasting impact on the fans who were already dazzled by his performance in Split.
Glass is slated to release on 18 January 2019.
