Animation production company, Toonbox entertainment has announced its co-production deal with Galen Walker’s GAMA Entertainment. The collaboration will see the two production companies co-develop and co-produce intellectual content, kicking-off with GAMA’s first feature film project scheduled for production this month. The studio announced the move as part of their growth strategy after releasing The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, last year. The film was distributed domestically by Open Road Films, now known as Global Road Entertainment and was sold worldwide by The Weinstein Co. with eOne Films handling Canada, Warner Bros. handling the UK, to name a few. “Galen possesses a wealth of experience and a track record in this industry. We are very proud to welcome Galen Walker’s collaboration and leadership as part of our creative fold and process to produce high-quality animation content worldwide,” said Toolbox Entertainment CEO and founder Hong Kim. Walker has worked in the industry for over 30 years. He produced Michael Bay’s and Platinum Dunes’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 reboot with Paramount Pictures, which grossed over $485 million worldwide along with the 2016 sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and the CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2007. ToonBox Entertainment has released the animated hits like The Nut Job (2014), Bolts and Blip (2010), The Beet Party (2012), Spark (2017) and The Nut Job 2 (2017).
