The Donkey KingTalisman Studios has released the teaser for their upcoming animation The Donkey King. The animated film is developed and produced by Talisman Studios and Geo Films. Hailing from Pakistan’s animation industry, this film joins the list of those animated films that have gained popularity. Aziz Jindani who had been the mastermind behind Commander Safeguard has helmed The Donkey King which aims at entertaining all age groups.

In the released trailer, it starts off with a royal setting where it is disclosed that the king is a Donkey, which ends in showing it to be just a dream. The protagonist, Mangu Mangu Jan Mangu, who is a Donkey, is also a laundry-man, typically a person who washes clothes for daily wages. The visuals, music, and voiceover are entertaining and a work of a professional animator. Also, the dialects are not in the internationally accepted language i.e. English, but in a local language. Whereas, the animation of the film is as good as an internationally standardised animated film.

Director Jindani had revealed that the idea for the film came to him in 2003, and he started working on it from 2013 during working on his Commander Safeguard animated series. This film stars the voices of Jan Rambo, Ismail Tara, Hina Dilpazeer, Ghulam Mohiuddin, and Jawed Sheikh.

Speaking about his film, Jindani says, “The Donkey King is an attempt to redefine the animation film genre in Pakistan. It will transcend the category by appealing to children and the child within every adult. The strongest point of The Donkey King is its unique, locally relevant storyline, tongue & cheek dialogues, and characters that are built to last. The content speaks to the kids but consistently winks at the adult which will make it a worthwhile watch for all age groups.”

The Donkey King will hit the theatres across Pakistan for release on 13 October.

Anticipating the animated film will be available soon internationally for everyone to watch.
