From esports arenas to the Bigg Boss house, Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh is taking his game to a much bigger audience.
Singh, one of the early faces of India’s mobile esports boom, has made the jump from competitive gaming to mainstream entertainment with his debut on Bigg Boss 20. His move marks another sign of how far India’s gaming ecosystem has travelled. What began as a competitive niche has produced esports athletes, creators and digital personalities with audiences well beyond gaming.
Scout is among its biggest success stories. He competed on the international esports circuit, including a second-place finish at the PUBG Mobile World League 2020 East, before expanding his reach through livestreaming, content and brand collaborations. He now has more than nine million followers across platforms.
His Bigg Boss debut on Sunday put that reach in a very different arena. And the gaming community was firmly in his corner.
Digital creators CarryMinati, Fukra Insaan (Abhishek Malhan) and Elvish Yadav sent messages backing Scout during the premiere. Their appearances highlighted a wider shift: gaming personalities are increasingly crossing over from screens dedicated to games to platforms built for mass entertainment.
CarryMinati looked back at watching Scout during his early gaming days, while Fukra Insaan described the move as a natural progression for someone who has represented the YouTube community for years. He encouraged Scout to approach the reality show with responsibility, humility and warmth. Yadav, himself a familiar face of digital-to-mainstream entertainment, congratulated Scout and urged him to make the most of the opportunity.
The gaming conversation did not stop there. Salman Khan spoke to Scout about his esports career and the money he has earned through gaming, giving mainstream television audiences a glimpse of gaming as more than just a pastime.
Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh commented, “Gaming has taken me places I could have never imagined when I started. From being a competitive player to building a community of millions, I’ve seen gaming grow into a real career for an entire generation. Bigg Boss is a new chapter for me, and I’m excited for people to see Tanmay beyond ScoutOP.”
For Revenant XSpark (RNTX), where Singh is associated with the wider ecosystem, the move is another marker of gaming’s expanding influence.
Revenant XSpark CEO Rohit Jagasia stated, “Scout’s journey has always been about pushing beyond what people expected from a gamer. He started out as a competitive player, went on to build one of the strongest communities in Indian gaming, and now he is taking that influence to one of the biggest mainstream platforms in the country. What makes this moment special for us at RNTX is that it shows the kind of careers gaming can create today.”
The crossover is not happening in isolation. RNTX talent Vanshaj Singh recently appeared on Amazon Prime Video’s Alliance, while gaming creator PayalGaming has also featured on the reality show. The pattern is becoming hard to miss. India’s gaming personalities are no longer staying in their lane and Scout’s latest move suggests the lane itself is getting wider.
From the esports battlefield to the Bigg Boss house, the next level for Indian gaming may not be another tournament. It may be prime-time television.
