Anthony and Joseph V. Russo direct most of their work jointly, and also occasionally work as producers, screenwriters, actors, and editors. Currently working on a new line up for Marvel’s premiere super team that’s set to star in Avengers: Infinity War, fans at the Wizard Comic Con were eager to know what’s in store for the characters in the upcoming sequel.

“I want to see some storytelling from some of the secondary characters,” said Joe Russo, “We’re focusing on that right now with Infinity War, while we’re breaking into those movies, is which characters can we pull to the forefront who potentially haven’t had their own ‘A’ story arc to this point,” he continued. “I think you’ll see that the supporting Avengers are going to become primary Avengers.”

He also adds the fact that Avengers might miss out on some of the members from the previous films, “Everything is finite, right? Nothing can last forever… It’s cyclical. Some new Avengers in (future movies) are going to become prominent and then maybe some Avengers might not be around anymore.”

When further probed whether Marvel’s another hit franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining the team to fight against Thanos, Joe Russo responded, “That is another one that we would have to reserve as a surprise, but we will say this: People will not be disappointed in the amount of characters in the movie. The concept of Infinity War is that the Marvel universe unites to battle the greatest threat to the world and universe that you’ve ever seen, and we’re going to honour that concept.”

Apart from Infinity Wars, Russo brothers have given out the successful Captain America sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and  fans are excited to witness what lies in it’s sequel Civil War where Marvel’s two main superheroes, Captain America and Iron Man who will be facing off against each other. And joining them are Marvel’s A listed characters namely Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Spider Man, Black Widow, Falcon, Ant Man. Thor and Hulk won’t be seen in this epic war but during a lengthy interview from a recent international press tour, the speculation of Red Hulk’s presence was laid to rest.

Joe Russo weighed in on the rumors swirling around General Ross’ possible transformation into the Red Hulk in the film, giving a definitive statement, “There’s always a chance at Marvel that you can see anything. But there, uh, let’s say — there is no Red Hulk in ‘Civil War.’”

As for if Black Widow should be getting a standalone film for herself and whether they would like to make that movie, Joe Russo replied, “Hell, yeah! We love that character. We find that the character is one of the richest, if not ‘the richest’ character in the Marvel Universe. A very, very complex character, is haunted by demons. Her understanding of the world is fascinating, and I think there’s a lot that can be done with that character.”

With such interesting plotlines and new revelations about the Marvel films, all the speculations will come to a rest on 6 May, 2016 with the release of Captain America: Civil War followed by Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 that’s scheduled for a May 2018 release.black widow
