Portfolio Entertainment embarks on all new adventures with ‘DOKI’ for Discovery Kids Latin America

DOKI fever continues as leading producer and distributor Portfolio Entertainment is set to produce Season three and four of the highly-popular series for Discovery Kids Latin America. The animated series follows the ever-curious Doki and his five friends, all members of the Worldwide Expedition Club, as they travel the world and explore distant lands and cultures, while answering the big questions of inquisitive preschoolers. The new seasons will comprise of 48 x 11’ episodes and  2 x 30’ specials. In addition to being developed and produced in-house, the new episodes will be animated by Portfolio Animation, the company’s new studio located in the hub of Toronto’s creative district. Pre-production on the new seasons has already begun with delivery starting in September 2016. Follow Doki and his friends as they travel all over the planet to discover the wonders of the world. Doki has a lot of questions and he’ll go as far as it takes to get the answers! He’s a born explorer, just like his best friends Oto, Mundi, Fico, Gabi and Anabella. Together, they’re Team Doki and anything can spark an expedition. One moment, the Team is just hanging around their clubhouse, and the next Doki is struck with a great question. What were castles really like? Where do rubber bands come from? Why won’t my balloon float? Suddenly – it’s expedition time! Will they find their answer in China or Brazil? At the bottom of the sea or in the International Space Station? Wherever they go, it’s sure to be a fascinating expedition. DOKI “We’re very excited to green light new seasons of this tentpole series, and once again bring Portfolio Entertainment on board to develop them so that our preschool viewers can continue to enjoy the adventures of Doki and the Worldwide Expedition Club on Discovery Kids,” said Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, executive VP and chief content officer, Carolina Lightcap. “Discovery Kids Latin America has been an incredible broadcast partner in building DOKI into an entertaining international brand and we’re excited to help continue this success with the production of these new episodes,” said Portfolio Entertainment, senior VP production, Julie Stall. “With the addition of our new animation studio, we are very happy to draw on the ingenuity and creative excellence of our entire team from start to finish for this series.”
