Nintendo announces its new President — Tatsumi Kimishima

TatsumiKimishimaAfter passing of Satoru Iwata, Nintendo announced its new company president Tatsumi Kimishima, who was serving as the MD of company until now. He was overseeing the human resources division of the company and has been previously working with companies like Pokémon Company as CFO. He was also working for their US division as the president and was also the president of Nintendo of America.

Nintendo currently is facing a lot of difficulties in the console war with Microsoft and Sony and with the Wii U struggling and the 3DS nearing end of its lifecycle, the next big hope for Japanese company is the new NX console. Also, the company will now foray into mobile gaming with DeNA and a mysterious quality of life initiative.

Kimishima will have to take responsibility of both of these new ventures from Iwata and the success for it will resurrect the company fortunes in the industry. Meanwhile, Shigeru Miyamato and Genyo Takeda, one of the lead visionaries for the Wii, have been given new roles as Creative Fellow and Technology Fellow respectively. Both will help Kimishima during the transition — but even with their assistance, he unquestionably has huge shoes to fill.
