Nilesh Patel Studios: Catering to the needs of content creators globally

Nilesh Patel Studios, a recognised service provider cum animation studio, has been working on animated content since 6 years. Founded in 2009 by Nilesh Patel, a school dropout, Nilesh Patel Studios has ventured into various platforms like animated TV series and also digital media like YouTube.

With a strength of around 45 artists, the studio has been working on both 2D and 3D animated content and has contributed the same while working on different projects provided by both international and in-house clients. Using software like Anime Studio Pro and Adobe Flash in the past, the studio now is now slowly migrating to using a ToonBoom software pipeline in the near future. Nilesh Patel Studios, business manager, Arpit Dubey says, “We want to expand our skills and also since the demand from international clients is to work on ToonBoom’s Harmony, we will begin using the software from 2016.”

Having contributed over 1200+ mins of animated content for YouTube, 100+ mins of animation on social causes like Child Abuse, 7 documentary DVDs, number of animated TV series and features, the studio is bound by NDA policies to disclose any content, but has grown from strength to strength and looking at further expansion by also travelling to international content markets like MIPCOM.

Aiming to be the best service provider of India, Arpit says, “We strive to design the process to deliver the projects with proper understanding and within the specific timeline.” On attending MIPCOM 2015 he adds, “We aim to expand our global reach by venturing into the global market. We wish to be the best service provider of India in terms of animation by focusing on the content which has a global appeal.”

Animation is still in the developing stage in India and studios like Nilesh Patel Studios are among a few thought leaders in changing the way Indian animation industry is viewed globally. “There is lack of infrastructural and monetary support from the government in the field of animation in India,” admits Arpit. “There is no platform for stakeholders, animators, investors, artists, production houses and service providers to come together and carry out business. Animation industry in India has a lot of potential and is on the road to reach new horizons but considerable recognition, appreciation and space should be provided,” he adds.

Creating animation content and providing valuable quality service is what Nilesh Patel Studios believe in. With such studios in India, who aim to create their own IPs, definitely animation in India will undergo transformation at a steady pace in the near future.
