Nickelodeon brings alive ‘Motu Patlu’ through augmented reality

Giving children a chance to be animated in real life, Nickelodeon brought alive the Nicktoons ‘Motu Patlu’ through augmented reality at a mall in Mumbai. The brand incorporated this in its range of engaging activities held at Oberoi Mall in Mumbai.

Viacom18 Kids Cluster EVP and business head Nina Elavia Jaipuria said: “At Nickelodeon we have always endeavoured to make dreams come true for kids through campaigns like Nickelodeon Be the Boss, and the latest Motu Patlu Hero Hunt – an opportunity for kids to turn into a star with their favourite superstars Motu Patlu.”

Called the Motu Patlu Hero Hunt, the campaign is based on TV show ‘Motu Patlu’. Bringing alive the idea of the hunt, a virtual wall gives kids an experience of featuring on the show. On a big plasma screen, Motu Patlu welcomes the kids to act out a few lines with them that is then simulated on the screen to bring alive the experience of acting with the characters.

“Nickelodeon has always ensured that engagement is at the core of all our campaigns. This time too, augmented reality will give kids a glimpse of how they would be animated on television, adding to the intrigue and interest for the campaign,” she added.
