The first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated tent pole installment – Kung Fu Panda 3 – has arrived. Although the trailer is in Chinese, fans still can enjoy several scenes of the movie which reveal some new characters and give a look at the Furious Five. The trailer opens with Master Shifu seemingly warning the Furious Five that there will be a war. It continues with scene where the main villain, Kai aka The Collector, smirks. Although the trailer was meant for the Chinese audience, it has revealed the new villain who Po will fight in the movie set for release on 29 January, 2016. The one-minute trailer of the DreamWorks Animation film gives a first look of the furious five – Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Lucy Liu), Mantis (Seth Rogen), and Crane (David Cross) – along with Po (Jack Black), Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and the new villain Kai (JK Simmons). It has also been revealed that the new villain is powerful and strong and uses jade to his advantage. Po is also expected to meet his biological family in this movie, as the posters released earlier by DreamWorks Animation suggested. According to the official synopsis, “when Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. “But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!” Kai has an enormous body with evil spirit that goes around stealing the powers of other kung fu masters. It also shows the Furious Five fighting with other enemies on the roof of a building as well as features Mei Mei, the female panda who is rumoured to be Po’s love interest. At the end of the trailer, Kai is seen destroying a Chinese building with a huge statue. Jennifer Yuh Nelson returns to helm Kung Fu Panda 3, while Melissa Cobb is tapped as producer. The voice cast includes the usual suspects – Jack Black, Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman, David Cross, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Danny McBride, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, James Hong; along with the newly-added voice cast members Bryan Cranston, Rebel Wilson and Mads Mikkelsen.
