Sony’s Santa Monica Studio‘s creative director Cory Barlog let a slip at the PlayStation Experience event at Las Vegas, that the studio is in development stage of a new God of War game.
Barlog confirmed it in response to a question from a fan during the God of War retrospective panel. According to a tweet from Santa Monica Studio’s official account, he probably wasn’t supposed to.

According to a report from IGN, Barlog said that the new game was still very early in development and that they hoped to show more in a year or two. He said that while the game definitely isn’t a prequel, it may in fact be a reboot of the series.
‘God of War: Ascension’ was the last game from the series back in 2013. The game received a mixed response from the critics and gamers alike. Santa Monica is also working on a couple of other games which it announced at the PlayStation Experience.
