Nelvana’s Trucktown Lands on France Televisions This Spring

Nelvana Enterprises has announced that its CGI animated boys preschool series Trucktown (Jack et les Camions) will be heading to France Televisions. The 80 x 11-minute series will air on France 5 on the Zouzous block beginning Spring 2015.

The series made its world premiere on Corus Entertainment’s preschool channel Treehouse in early September, 2014 and was the #1 show during its debut month. Additionally, at launch it ranked #2 in the Top TV episodes for kids on iTunes Canada. Nelvana is partnering with Spin Master to produce a range of Trucktown toys.

Trucktown, which follows the playful adventures of a group of rough and tumble young trucks, is based on a successful series of books by renowned children’s author Jon Scieszka (The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fairly Stupid Tales, The Time Warp Trio, Spaceheadz) and published by Simon & Schuster, which includes over 50 titles and has sold more than 1 million books.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Trucktown to France Televisions,” said Sylvie Didierjean, Director, International Sales, Nelvana Enterprises. “The rambunctious fun embedded in the series is sure to delight preschoolers in France as much as it has in Canada.”

Trucktown centres around Jack Truck and his best friends Dump Truck Dan and Max the Monster Truck and the rest of the truck gang as they roar, romp and power their way through Trucktown. This group of friends have never met a wall they couldn’t smash or a road or bridge they couldn’t build—and smash again. Filled with good old-fashioned fun, Trucktown is a rough and tumble place, where smashing and crashing and building and breaking are the only ways to play.
