Nelvana’s Truckdown heads to Germany’s Super RTL

Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, recently announced that its CGI animated boys’ preschool series Trucktown will soon start broadcasting on Super RTL, Germany’s children’s broadcaster, later this year.

Trucktown which follows the playful adventures of a group of rough and tumble young trucks, is based on a successful series of books by renowned children’s author Jon Scieszka (The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fairly Stupid Tales, The Time Warp Trio, Spaceheadz) and published by Simon & Schuster, which includes over 50 titles and has sold more than 1 million books.

The show centres around Jack Truck and his best friends Dump Truck Dan and Max the Monster Truck and the rest of the truck gang as they roar, romp and power their way through Trucktown. This group of friends have never met a wall they couldn’t smash or a road or bridge they couldn’t build—and smash again.

“We are happy to welcome Trucktown to our pre-school block soon,” said Super RTL program director Carsten Göttel,. “The special mixture of friendly and charming characters, stories full of action and a good share of fun did convince us and will surely win the hearts of our pre-school audience, too.”

The series has been on air since September 2014 and made its world premiere on Corus Entertainment’s preschool channel Treehouse where it was ranked number one during its debut month. Additionally, it launched on iTunes Canada and on France Televisions on France 5’s ZouZou block in February.
