‘Muppets Now’ premieres 31 July on Disney+

Disney+ shared a first look trailer at its upcoming original series Muppets Now, premiering exclusively on the streaming service on 31 July. In the trailer, Kermit the frog announces the newest Muppet endeavor, though Joe the legal otter prevents him from saying much more. But from the footage, it’s clear this new Muppet show is full of celebrity guests including Seth Rogen, RuPaul, and Linda Cardellini and wacky Muppet hijinks to name a few.

Muppets Now is an unscripted series filled with improv comedy, off-the-cuff gags, and the Muppets’ celebrity friends. In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions and complications the rest of the Muppets throw at him.

The show will combine the formats of a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show. From experiments with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker to lifestyle tips from Miss Piggy, each episode is packed with hilarious segments, hosted by the Muppets showcasing what the Muppets do best.

Produced by The Muppets Studio and Soapbox Films, Muppets Now is the first Muppets television series since 2015’s The Muppets, a mockumentary-style show which aired for one season on ABC.
