Multiplex Association of India offers Rs 75 movie tickets to celebrate National Cinema Day on 23 September, gets amazing response

There is great news for all the cinema lovers! Multiplex Association of India (MAI) announced the celebration of National Cinema Day offering movie tickets at Rs 75 at all their partnered cinemas across the country on 23 September. 

The National Cinema Day was previously announced to be held on 16 September. However, on request from various stakeholders and in order to maximize participation it was changed, MAI said in a statement shared on social media.

National Cinema Day will be held tomorrow (23 September) at more than 4000 participating screens and will include cinema screens of PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, Carnival, MovieMax, Miraj, City Pride and many more.

“National Cinema Day is estimated to set a new Cinema Attendance record in 2022. Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala unable to participate due to State Government regulations w.r.t Movie Ticket Pricing,” it mentioned.

They also mentioned that the pre-sales of tickets have received unprecedented response and 23 September is on course to become the highest attended day of the year for cinemas across the country. This day will mark the successful reopening of the cinemas and this celebration is a ‘thank you’ gesture for all the moviegoers.

“In observance of National Cinema Day, we, at MovieMax, are providing a discounted price of just Rs 75 for all movie tickets. We perceive it as a great way of acknowledging the love and support of movie patrons who have made it possible for theatres to resume business post the pandemic. This day is dedicated to appreciating the entertainment and emotions movies have brought us throughout the decades and showing our heartfelt gratitude to the movie lovers who have stood by our side through the pandemic challenges. I believe that we should make this an annual practice so as to honour the movies and the patrons,” said MovieMax CEO Ashish Kanakia. 

“India’s first ever “National Cinema Day” will be celebrated this Friday, 23 September. In honour of this marquee event, tickets will be offered for ₹75 at all partnered cinemas. Make sure that you join the celebration and experience the magic of movies on the big screen,” PVR wrote on social media.
