Microsoft releases Xbox One 1TB with wireless controller at US$399

Microsoft has announced the arrival of its new Xbox One 1TB Console, and it will be bundled with an improved wireless controller; which will be made available come Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015.

The Xbox One 1TB console sports a new matte finish, and still has the external 3.0 storage option to complement the increased hard drive space.

“Since Xbox One launched, one of the most frequent requests from fans is to add more storage to their consoles… We’re extremely grateful to our fans for your continued feedback and the Xbox team is continually working hard to expand and improve the experience. 2015 is going to be a great year for gamers,” the official statement said.

This is not the first time Microsoft offered the 1TB option to gamers. Sometime between October and November last year, the company came out with the Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Bundle that had the same provision.

The Xbox One 1TB console will also include the latest Xbox One Wireless controller that comes with a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, improved audio quality, and increased volume limit. The controller has an improved physical design, and can receive wireless firmware updates.

As limited time offer, the bundle will include a copy of “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” in some regions.

The Xbox One Wireless Controller will also be available as a standalone accessory for US$80, with standard black and silver-and-black camouflage design. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, a $25 device, is included with it.

With the arrival of the Xbox One 1TB, the standard Xbox One 500GB’s price has been reduced, to encourage sales numbers.

“We’re also pleased to announce that starting today, the $349 USD price on all standard Xbox One 500GB consoles will be permanent in the United States,” the statement added. United Kingdom, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea will have the permanent price reduction as well.

Interestingly, Sony is rumored to come out with a 1TB version of the Playstation 4 gaming console at the E3 2015. The Xbox One 1TB Console bundle is priced at $399. It will be available on 16 June in the US, while other regions will get to see the unit before the end of the month.
