John Constantine leads the charge against dark forces in the ‘Justice League Dark’ trailer

Justice League fans, hold on to your seats as things are about to get dark. A trailer for the Justice League Dark has been released by Warner Bros. (through IGN) and while the possibility of a live-action movie might be a possibility, the upcoming animated feature looks really good from the trailer at least.

Justice League Dark features the heroes from DC universe who deal with supernatural threats to the planet with similar powers of their own. Originally not a team in the DC Universe these characters always come together for the greater good – to save the world. It features characters like John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon.

Going by the trailer, people are being inflicted by some sort of dark paranormal force through twisted visions and nightmares, which in turn are making them do unimaginable things. While the Justice League looks forward to tackle the situation, Batman suggests that Constantine would be the one who would able to help them with the crisis and voila – Say hello to Justice League Dark. Constantine groups up Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon in an attempt to purge the dark, supernatural forces. Just like The Killing Jokethis movie will be having an R-rating due to the ‘disturbing violence’.

Batman will be voiced by Jason O’Mara, Matt Ryan as John Constantine, Camilla Luddington as Zatana, Nicholas Turturro as Deadman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Ray Chase as Jason Blood/Etrigan. Apart from that, the new additions to the voice cast include Jeremy Davies as Ritchie, Enrico Colantoni as Felix Faust, Alfred Molina as Destiny and filling in for both Swamp Thing and John Stewart would be Roger R. Cross.

Directed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) from a story penned by  J.M. DeMatteis and Ernie Altbacker, Justice League Dark will be releasing over DVD, Blu-ray and digital sometime in early 2017.
