Joanna Page comes on board as the voice of ‘Poppy Cat’ on Nick Jr. UK

Nick Jr. UK is returning with the second season of its kids’ animated series of ‘Poppy Cat’ beginning 8 September every weekday at 9:00 am. The show has roped in Joanna Page, star of the popular British romantic sitcom Gavin and Stacey, to voice ‘Poppy Cat’ in the brand-new second series of the kids’ animated show.

“It is exciting that Poppy Cat has been commissioned for a second season,” said Page to Animation Magazine. “I got involved with the show because the stories are so sweet, and it is just so great for children – all of the magical adventures which encourage them to use their imagination, and going off to different worlds, is just so wonderful.”

Produced by Coolabi Productions and King Rollo Films, Poppy Cat was commissioned by Nick Jr. UK. The first season airs in more than 140 territories worldwide and is a top-rated show on its home channel as well as Sprout in the US, France5 and in Spain on TVE. Season two will see all the favorites back again: Zuzu the dog, Mo the mouse, Alma the rabbit, Egbert the badger and Owl.

Based on the award-winning books by Lara Jones, Poppy Cat encourages preschoolers to use their imaginations to solve problems and discover the world around them. Each episode is seen through the eyes of Poppy Cat’s young owner, Lara, and sees the kitty heroine and her friends embark on exciting, fantastical journeys. The show currently has 17 U.K. licensing partners, and Coolabi recently appointed Firefly Brand Management in the U.S. and El Ocho in Spain. StoryToys has launched a new Poppy Cat game and story app, available now for iOS and Android.
