Grow two left hands playing ‘Righty Tighty’

Righty Tighty is one of the three minimalistic arcade games NickerVision Studios (NVS) has released which provide for a single tap gameplay with only one goal to achieve, i.e., to collect the white ball.

As the name suggests, one tap changes the direction of ball on right side. One has to grab points and bring to the goal zone. One should avoid walls and obstacles flying from different directions.

The game is a follow-up of the two games that preceded this; Bing Bong and Pivot. Both of which have similar art-style with different game premise. Bing Bong is fundamentally Ping Pong with the idea of the game being to collect white balls from both ends of the screen without being hit by the blocks coming in from the right of the screen. The tap on the phone slows down the ball, so that you avoid being knocked down. Pivot, the second game from the minimalistic arcade game series is also single tap infinite touch game where the player has to collect the white ball with the help of a blue ball that rotates in clockwise direction and changes when tapped in. Here too, you have to avoid similar boxes and walls.

Coming back to Righty TIghty, the game reminds one of snake games one used to play in the Nokia phones where you used to collect the dot and earn points with the snake getting bigger. Here the challenges are not one but many, first being that the red ball that ventures out to collect the white ball, turns only right when tapped. One has to also keep in mind that the size of the ball increases and decreases as you move towards the white ball. The bigger the red ball, more are the chances of you being hit by an obstacle. Also, as you keep scoring, the challenges become difficult with the goal zone moving in the horizontal direction. Higher the score faster the goal zone moves.

This game is a good change from the current crop of games coming in and is a good past time when you are in travel or waiting in a queue. But the game may get monotonous if you don’t get past a certain level and don’t experience the different challenges thrown in later.
