Frame Your Idea facilitates young minds to pitch ideas to industry veterans directly at FICCI FRAMES 2016

Never before have the leading filmmakers, producers, studios from the Mumbai film industry, the lead digital content players as well as the broadcasters been represented at a single venue for three days to ‘listen’ to fresh ideas, stories and scripts. Frame Your Idea! (FYI) will happen across three days, alongside FICCI FRAMES 2016, which is Asia’s largest convention in the business of media and entertainment to be hosted at Renaissance, Powai from 30 March, 2016 to 1 April, 2016.

Almost 70 panelists (comprising of a creative teams of producers, directors, studios, broadcasters, content aggregators) across 6 categories (Film, TV, Animation, Digital, Documentary, Finished content) will be present to listen to ideas, stories, scripts and finished content being pitched to them every 10 minutes.

FYI, director, Viraf Phiroz Patel said, “Once the idea owner registers for FYI 2016 he/she is assured at least 4 meetings of 10 minutes each, with his/her preferred producers/studios/broadcaster, through a ‘first come first serve’ based automated slotting system.”

At FYI, anyone with a content idea or story or screenplay for a film/TV show/animation can pre-register, turn up and pitch it to the right people in the business of entertainment. FYI 2016 is poised to provide opportunities to over 1000 content idea owners to pitch to at least four panelists each.

FYI will prove beneficial to the young minds to directly voice out their ideas in specifically Animation, Film and Gaming and thus help the growth of the AVGC and film industry.

FICCI Animation and Gaming Forum, chairman, Ashish S K says, “This is the first time ever that India will see such a great platform created giving a unique opportunity to idea owners to meet producers, creators and studios one on one.”

The industry personnel like directors and creative officers like Kabir Khan, Mahesh Bhatt, Rucha Pathak and Nikkhil Advani who will be listening to new ideas are looking forward to grab some good stories from the creative minds.

Director/Producer, Nikkhil Advani says, “Young filmmakers and writers are forever complaining, about how they don’t have access to studios or production houses. FYI is now putting the young filmmaker with the next big idea in touch with the producers to whom they would normally not have access to.”

Nihit Bhave, an ex- journalist signed by a leading producer as screenplay writer at FYI 2015, expresses his views, “The event is essential for writers, not only because it puts you across the table from content heads of production houses, but also helps you test the waters. Is your story commercially viable? What sort of production house will make it? Is it too long? Is it too short for a feature format? As writers, we tend to take the uniqueness of our ideas for granted, but the event is a great place for constructive criticism.”

The year’s FYI will consist of distinct categories like Digital content in terms of Web series/Shorts in order to manifest the new content appetite emerging due to Internet and Mobile as growing platforms of content distribution. It will also include Finished content in the form of Films/ Documentaries/ Shorts to contribute towards the much-needed content market in the country.

The panelists include big players of the AVGC industry in India like Cartoon Network, Disney Films, Drishyam VFX, Nickelodeon, ZeeQ, Toonz Media Group, Hotstar, Discovery, Fox Star Studio and so on.
