A “SuperNova Gaming Carnival”, the first of its kind initiative bringing together pro gaming and eSports with popular mainstream culture, is beginning in Bengaluru early next month.
Organised by NovaPlay, the event will take place at Loft 38, Indira Nagar, Bengaluru on 3 July, 2016. The platform has been created by Nova Gaming Ventures, and the carnival will witness a mix of Gaming, Music, Comedy and Sports Entertainment.
The SuperNova Gaming Carnival is a year long event and will cover five cities – Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai.
SuperNova claims to be India’s largest gaming extravaganza with a prize pool of Rs 5 lakh (approx $7443) per city qualifier, held in an exhilarating format, and officiated by FIESTA, India’s official eSports governing body. The tournament pre-qualifiers will have 150 plus teams of five members each competing, and eight teams will progress to the city finals at Bengaluru on 3 July.
The day-long event will also see performances by stand-up comedian Abish Mathew, one of the sharpest minds on the Indian comedy scene, and gigs by DJ BLOT and Bengaluru based DJ-Vachan Chinnappa.

The whole idea of the gaming carnival is to cater to a larger audience that goes beyond professional gamers and attracts casual gaming enthusiasts as well.
The SuperNova Gaming Carnival is one of several initiatives being taken by Nova Gaming Ventures, including its community platform to bring together multiplayer gaming communities in India.
