‘The actor v/s the actor’ or ‘the Fan v/s the Superstar’ this is what the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer FAN is all about! The trailer of this film produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films was released on 29 February, 2016 and created a buzz on social media to trigger the excitement among SRK fans all over the globe.
It is important to connect to the audience… and the trailer connects directly to the viewers right at the start as it explains the connection of the protagonist Gaurav Chanana with his idol superstar Aryan Khanna; both played by Shah Rukh Khan. The plot further goes defining the craze of this 20- year old fan which gradually turns into an obsession leading to enmity and rage for his own dream idol.
redchillies.VFX, the national award winning VFX studio behind Ra.One and Krrish 3, has worked on creating visual effects for this film which was much awaited since a longtime. The most integral part is creation of the 20 – year old look alike of Shah Rukh Khan. The team of redchillies.VFX has worked on face creation to make Shah Rukh Khan look just like himself yet different in a number of ways. So if you notice carefully, at different angles and different shots the protagonist looks quite different.
redchillies.VFX , COO/VFX Producer, Keitan Yadav said, “Over 500-600 artists have been working on this film for more than a year. VFX in FAN is one of its kind, never been achieved and seen before. A lot of R&D work has been done as the entire film has portions of VFX which has been tried out for the first time.”
Apart from this, the trailer displays various stunts and background creation with some of them being seen as a work of visual effects. A couple of fight sequences, bike stunts, train shots, blasts, glass break down, vigorous tiffs and chase scenes spring up throughout the trailer. And, the trailer ends on a suspense note where Aryan Khanna is thrust just before a speeding vehicle. Who will win the battle? And, who will survive as the Hero is a question left for the audience to answer thus keeping them hooked.
Though the trailer has revealed the basic plot of the film, SRK fans are excited and left in suspense to watch more of the Bollywood star (which is quite normal yet cliché for any SRK fan). Well, nothing more can please SRK fans than the fact that they can witness two Shah Rukh Khans instead of one.
Even though much has not been revealed on the actual visual effects work, FAN seems to entertain the audience due to the stardom that it holds. It has already baffled SRK fans and created an impatient wait for its theatrical release on 15 April, 2016.
