Ex-EA SVP Nick Earl joins Kabam as Studio President

Nick Earl who was at EA for 13 years and recently promoted to be the SVP and GM of its mobile game division has ended his long standing association to join Kabam, an independent and fast growing mobile company as President of Worldwide Studio.

Earl will now look after game development at the company and will oversee work of hundreds of game developers. He will be directly reporting to Kabam’s chief executive Kevin Chou.

“Kabam is increasingly delivering console-quality game experiences on mobile devices; I am thrilled to help drive the future of Kabam’s first-party games and the future of the entire gaming industry.” said Earl, in a statement.

Kabam has a history of poaching important executives from Microsoft where earlier this year Aaron Loeb, a former EA vice president joined as senior VP of its North American studios.

In August, Kabam received $120 million from Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and is making its presence felt in the gaming world where it doubled its yearly revenue by $360 million.
