EA launches Origin Access; a $5 monthly subsciption pc gaming platform

Electronic Arts has just made a gamers life much easier. The company just introduced EA Origin Access, a new subscription service that gives members access to a number of its titles to install and play whenever they want.

All the free titles available under subscription will under The Vault, these titles include: Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield: Hardline, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 3, The Sims 3, FIFA 15, Need for Speed Rivals, SimCity, The Sims 3 Starter pack, Dead Space 3, Dead Space 2, Dragon Age II, Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare and This War of Mine. Once EA starts seeing numbers coming in, new games will be added to The Vault periodically.

Like its service EA Access on Xbox One, this one too is priced at $4.99 monthly fee. Members also get a 10 per cent discount on all Origin store games and an early access to all EA’s upcoming games. The members who subscribe to the service will also get time-bound access to full trial downloads of games before its launch. Once members decide to buy the full game, they can carry over progress from early trials to the full version.

EA also plans to have third party developers on Access which will give further boost to users subscribing to the service and see a number of extended to titles from other developers.

The service is right now limited to selected countries, namely US, UK, Germany, and Canada, with EA promising more countries to follow. And since EA’s Origin gaming store is a Windows exclusive, Mac and Linux users won’t be party to this new service.
