PES League Road to Milan, which was organized by e-xpress Interactive, kicked off at Infinity Mall in Mumbai with the presence of the Mumbai City FC players Sunil Chettri and his clubmates all there to witness the qualifier which presented an opportunity for the winner to play national qualifiers on their road to Milan for the world finals.
The PES League is a global competition of the world’s best Pro Evolution Soccer players. Finals will be held in Milan, which is also the host city for this year’s UEFA Champions League final, and the top qualifier from India will earn a spot in the world finals.
The Mumbai qualifier saw more than 70 competitors, but Aniruddh Joshi won the big prize, winning a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with a seat in the national final. Ritesh Mukherjee was first runner-up, winning Rs 10,000, while Rohit Thakur was third, and won Rs 5,000.
Speaking on this occasion, Sunil Chhetri, Indian Football Team Captain, who also represents Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League said, “Pro Evolution Soccer game has set benchmarks in the football game series every year. We love playing PES Game as it helps, professionals like us to improve our skills. Konami has done a great job by getting the utter realism in the game for the players. We felt extremely fascinated to be here with the crowd and we look forward to see more PES Leagues in the near future”
Mumbai City FC players had a gala time playing with the other gamers at the event and trying their hands at PES 2016. The team was also presented with a Brazilian captain Neymar’s signed jersey who also dons the cover of PES 2016.
Sunil added, “PES helps players like me to understand the game better and experiment on-field tactics. It also allows me to understand how to turn and move on field better and of course helping to unwind after a hard day’s play.”
