Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ takes you deep into the breathtaking land of Mowgli

A wonderful amalgamation of the larger than life characters, wow moments that promise to give goosebumps to any viewer; the amazing camera angles and picturesque sequences is what this first live action attempt of Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’ is going to be if we go by the recently released trailer.

The 1 minute 55 second clip takes you deep into the jungle, where Mowgli resides. With the husssky voice of Scarlet Johansson in the background,  it gives one an intense feeling of witnessing the events of the jungle as a part of the wild. The swift attack of Shere Khan or the silent hissss of Kaa, every glimpse of the movie makes your heart pound faster. With the beautifully crafted shots of Mowgli running in the wild, across the large trunk of the trees, crossing the gigantic waterfall or the subjects of the humongous Orangutan, King Loui running up the mountain, every scene is perfectly blended with amazing music by John Debney.

The most poignant visual in the short trailer was the brief scene where Mowgli is seen sitting on the large stomach of his best friend Baloo as the ‘cool’ bear is floating by the riverside!

What else can lovers of such larger than life movies expect from this fantabulous combo, ‘The Iron Man’ director, John Favreau and Disney studio that epitomises giving larger than life movies.

The responsibility of doing justice to the immortal character of Mowgli is on the young shoulders of Indian-origin Neel Sethi. Apart from Mowgli all the other characters in the movie are created using CG. With the perfectly apt voices lent to the main characters of the film; Idris Elba as the tiger villain Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson as the slinky serpent Kaa, Lupita Nyong’o as the mother wolf Raksha, Christopher Walken as King Louie, and Ben Kingsley as the black leopard Bagheera and Bill Murray as Baloo, the movie has definitely raised the bar of expectations.

Though the trailer says the movie is coming soon, it was declared at the D23 Expo in August this year that this first live action The Jungle Book is all set to release on 16 April 2016. Just to increase the level of anticipation, the director had shared a six second clip of the trailer yesterday and we must say, this breathtaking trailer has certainly forced us to block our dates early for next spring.
