Remember watching that amazing animated shot ‘Piper’ by Pixar, before the opening of Disney’s Finding Dory?
While the movie did fairly well, the short managed to captivate the audience with its artistic simplicity and the message that it delivered.
Now, Disney has just teased its latest animated short, ‘Inner Workings’ which will be played as a prologue to the company’s upcoming feature, Moana.
So what is it about?
It is a conflict between a man’s organs, specifically, his heart and brain. The constant struggle that everyone faces is portrayed through a quirky, animated approach where the organs can be seen quite literally pulling the person towards the errand that they seem feasible.
So, what would the man choose? Will he go with his heart and eat those pancakes or will he go with his brain, be pragmatic and stick to the monotonous desk-job he has. It would be hard to say till the actual short is released.
Inner Workings would be the directorial debut for Leo Matsuda, who was the story artist for Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6.
It would be interesting to see how much the short manages to entrance the audience, as Piper did. We’ll only get to know once we see it!
