Disney signs a new deal with UK Pay TV Operator Sky

the-good-dinosaurDisney has inked up a deal with Sky, the U.K. pay TV operator a new multi-year movie and TV agreement continuing its relationship that has lasted almost 25 years.

The customers of Sky Movies and NOW TV Sky Movies will be able to watch new movies like Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur and Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the first pay TV window from around nine months after their release in movie theatres.

The agreement means customers can access the Disney movies, channels and on demand content as part of their subscriptions on over 70 compatible devices including mobiles, tablets and games consoles. All new movie titles and a large selection of classic movie titles will also be available to buy and keep, or rent, via Sky Store.

Gary Davey, MD – content, Sky said that the 25 years of association between Sky and Disney’s association of 25 years which has made them continue their collaboration continue for the growth.

Sky Movies subscribers can access the Disney channel and watch all the latest Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucas film films in HD, also in 3D in some cases. They will also have access to TV channels Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior through Sky’s subscription packages in both standard and high definition.

The new agreement will offer customers more Disney Channels series through Catch Up TV and On Demand than now available absolutely for free. ABC Studios primetime drama and comedy series such as Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, are Also included in this agreement and are available via ABC Studios on demand through Sky Box Sets.

Sky Movies customers can choose from a wide selection of classic Disney movies like Disney favourites- Frozen, Enchanted, Maleficent, The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, as well as Pixar hits such as Up, Monsters Inc. and Toy Story, that are on demand in Sky’s library.
