Benedict Cumberbatch finds his solace in Nepal

In its ever expanding universe, Marvel had earlier announced that it’s going to bring yet another of its comic character on the big screen and it was none other than the arrogant yet brilliant neurosurgeon, Doctor Strange. What excited the fans was the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing the title role of the Sorcerer Supreme.

The heartthrob of millions and known as Sherlock Holmes on the small screen – Cumberbatch was recently spotted shooting in Nepal. As opposed to his generally clean-slick appearance, fans will get to see a complete new look of Cumberbatch as he was seen sporting a disheveled and bearded look wearing normal loose clothes.

One might be wondering why’s Doctor Strange shooting happening in Nepal. The answer to is that as seen in comics, before attaining superpowers, Dr. Stephen Strange who was once a gifted but egotistical surgeon who met with a car accident that shatters the bones in his hands that curtails him from performing any surgery. Frustrated and depressed with his state, he lands up travelling to Himalayas where he meets the Ancient One to heal his hands where he ends up becoming the Master of the Mystic Arts and the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. The origin of Doctor Strange’s shooting has begun in full throttle and after Nepal, the crew will be heading to Pinewood Studios in London next month where major part of the film will be shot.

Starring with Cumberbatch will be Michael Stuhlbarg as Doctor Nicodemus West, Tilda Swinton as the mysterious figure popularly known as The Ancient One and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Doctor Strange’s enemy Baror Mordo. Rachel Adams will be the female-lead, but as of now, no details about the role have been known. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film is scheduled to be released on 4 November, 2016.
