Autodesk technology enables the making of Chhota Bheem’s new 3D Avatar

Chhota Bheem, India’s iconic and popular animation character has undergone a transformation and will be seen in a new 3D avatar enabled by Autodesk tech – Maya and Arnold. Chhota Bheem would be seen in this new avatar in the latest movie Kung Fu Dhamaka produced by Green Gold Animation. The studio has partnered with Yash Raj Films for the release of the movie across the country on 10 May 2019. In the movie, Chhota Bheem fights against the evil demon Zuhu to rescue the daughter of the emperor of China.

 Since its inception in 2008 as a 2D animation character, Chhota Bheem has gained massive popularity and become a phenomenon in India, especially among kids. This new movie, Kung Fu Dhamaka, is the first Native 3D stereoscopic theatrical feature of Chhota Bheem that is filled with instances of the rich Indian culture and moral values. The entire 3D animation, look and feel for the movie as well as final coloured CGI output has been generated using Autodesk Maya. The various shots representing different geographies and landscapes has taken the finesse of storytelling to the next level.

Autodesk’s flagship software Maya and Arnold along with Green Gold Animation’s expertise have helped in adding adventure in the movie providing a base for the various action scenes. The exclusive features (Mash and Bifrost) of Autodesk’s flagship software Maya, has helped Green Gold Animation to match global standards of animation in the new Chhota Bheem movie. With the Maya Stereo Camera, the directors were able to achieve the required effects of depth even at a greyscale animation level. Autodesk has also played a major role in enabling Green Gold Animation to accelerate the post-production phase of the much-awaited animation movie. 

 Further, Green Gold Animation is planning a musical and a live action film on Chhota Bheem in the coming years. By enabling VFX studios like Green Gold Animation, Autodesk is fueling the evolution of the media and entertainment industry in India with world class technology for CGI, VFX and special effects.
